AVCE Unit 1 - Presenting Information
The way information is presented is of great importance. Businesses must ensure that they are presenting themselves and their product effectively. If they are unsuccessful at communicating themselves effectively they will lose business. This means they must have a consistent style or theme throughout their documents. Look at these examples to help demonstrate a consistent style.
When considering the layout of a document or a set of documents we can achieve a good theme or style by using features such as:
- alignment of text - left, right, centred and justified
- bold, italics and underlining
- bulleted and numbered lists
- charts and graphs
- columns
- drop caps
- font type and size
- graphics, photographs and clip art images
- heading styles
- hanging indents
- headers and footers, page numbers and footnotes
- lines and horizontal rules
- paragraph and page borders
- subscript and superscript
- symbols such as copyright
- tables and tab stops
- table of contents and an index
- templates
- use of colour and shading
- white space
