Unit 1 - Presenting Information
Most companies and organisations have standards that they apply to themsleves. The government also applies rules and regulations in regard to information held on computer systems.
The computer misuse act and data protection act both help to protect people. For example:
- no unauthorised person should have access to confidential information
- unique and original work by an another individual or organisation should not be presented as your own
- steps should be taken to ensure no confidential data is lost, stolen or misplaced
- ICT systems should be wiped clean before being passed on
- Data that is no longer required should be removed
It is important that students and teachers follow these rules. There are also rules concerning health that should be used if appropriate:
- take regular breaks
- use wrist wrests and foot stools
- use energy start compliant equipment
- be careful with drinks and electrical equipment
