Transposing a Model

Example: We want to take a worksheet that uses SUM functions to total sales figures, and change it from a vertical model to a horizontal model.

1.      Highlight the entire range to be transposed.

2.      Choose Edit - Copy.

3.      Move to the cell where you want the upper left corner of the transposed model.  Choose Edit - Paste Special.

4.      Select the Transpose option and click OK.

5.      Excel pastes the rearranged model, switching it from vertical to horizontal (or horizontal to vertical).  All SUM functions properly refer to the new cell locations.
