Example: For a special report, we want to change the background
of our Excel worksheet to a graphic image. So we'll use the Background
command to add a tiled image throughout the worksheet. (Tiled means
the same image is repeated over and over.)
1.
Choose Format - Sheet - Background.
2.
Navigate to the folder containing the image you want
used for your tiled background. Click on Insert.
Hint: Generally, you should use a light coloured image for your background.
Unless you change all your entries to a light colour, a dark background
image will make it very difficult to read your data.
3.
Your selected image is repeated over and over again as
a background for your worksheet.
4.
If you select a graphic image that is larger than the
area of the data in your worksheet, you won't notice the tiling effect --
you'll just see a single picture. (Although, if you scroll down or right,
the picture will eventually repeat.)
5.
To remove the background image, choose Format - Sheet
- Delete Background.
6.
You return to the standard Excel background. Note
that you cannot switch to another background. You must first
delete the current background, then insert the new background.
